Ryan Goessl - Director/Conductor
Mr. Goessl is a Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate in Choral Conducting at Hansei University, in Seoul, Korea. He holds a Master of Music Degree from the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, California, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Luther College, in Decorah, Iowa. Mr. Goessl is a conducting student of Dr. Eui-Joong Yoon, and has also studied choral conducting with Dr. Timothy Peter and world-renowned choral director, Weston Noble. He has studied voice with Nina Hinson, Gary Glaze, Shigemi Matsumoto, Steve Lusmann, and Susan Williams.
Mr. Goessl is active as a conductor (choral and orchestra), voice instructor, and baritone soloist, having performed in the U.S.A, Northern Europe, and Korea, both as a soloist and with choirs.
Recent performances include Handel's Messiah, a performance at the home of Korean President, Myoung-Bak Lee (이명박) that received rave reviews, Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs (Sejong Center), Mozart Requiem, Quintana Mass From Two Worlds, Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer, Neue Liebeslieder Walzer, Duruflé Requiem, Fauré Requiem, American Musical Theater Recital (Youngsan Art Hall), Arts Embassy Performances, and numerous operas and musicals.
Mr. Goessl is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Korea Federation of Choral Music (KFCM), the Korean organization of British/American Song Association (영미가곡연구회), National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA).
Mr. Goessl is the conductor of both Camarata Music Company choirs (the 50 voice chorale, and the semi-professional 26 voice Chamber Singers), the CMC Orchestra, is a voice instructor, and is the conductor of the Korea Herald Childrens Choir.
Along with music and conducting, Mr. Goessl is sought after as a lecturer on vocal health and healthy vocal production/habits, and as a voice instructor. His students can be seen on stages ranging from rock band to opera, and have won competitions including district and regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions (MONCA), Regional NATSAA Auditions, and Competitions in Korea.
